Where your donations went

Sama-Sama sa Lund (SSL) is a Filipino-Swedish organization established as a community association for Filipinos and Swedes living in Lund and its vicinity. SSL is raising funds for the survivors of typhoon Haiyan, a terrible tragedy that has ravaged the lives and properties of 9.2 million people last November 2013, many of which have lost everything they have except for the clothes on their back.

We are now reaching out to you, our friends and colleagues, to help us in our efforts to support the affected families by providing them financial assistance in rebuilding their homes and communities. We have been active in our fundraising efforts and have donated proceeds to relief operations during the onset of the tragedy, but we also have a running campaign to help fund the rehabilitation and reconstruction of small communities who are still in need of assistance. Helping the survivors rebuild their lives is not an overnight endeavor and it would need our continuous support.

 The proceeds of this campaign will be divided into different channels:

1. Direct help to SSL members whose immediate family members in the Philippines were directly affected by the storm.

2. Families in Brgy. Pago, Tanauan, Leyte. Distribution of proceeds to be arranged in person, by two SSL members.

If you want to donate to a particular channel, please inform us and we will make it a point that it will be transferred accordingly.

The international community has lauded the Filipino resilience amid this crippling disaster, but even now that months have passed, Typhoon Haiyan has still left Filipinos more vulnerable than ever. Your donation, no matter how much, will surely make a tremendous difference in the lives of these families. We may not be able to bring back what was lost, but we can still help them as they strive to move forward.
